Combat2Coffee was founded in 2018 by former veteran and prison officer, Nigel Seaman.

After serving with the Army for 12 years and being medically retired from his subsequent career as a prison officer, the 48-year-old founder, began suffering from depression, anxiety, and flashbacks from an incident experienced during his time on operations with the armed forces.

Combat2Coffee was then created as a way for Nigel to provide purposeful rehabilitation, veteran outreach, and a training course to recovering veterans and their families to give back to the support network that Nigel says, “saved his life”.

We know that mental health rates are high in construction and it is so important to raise mental health awareness, and we are here with Combat2Coffee to encourage everyone to speak up! We have been proud charity partners with the charity coming up to three years.

During this time, we’ve hosted over 35 successful events aimed at encouraging open conversations about mental wellbeing. Combat2Coffee is dedicated to serving top-quality coffee to support their mission of improving mental health, wellbeing, and outcomes for veterans, ex-uniformed personnel, their families, and communities. Their goal is to ensure that no more veterans lose their lives, nor families suffer, due to struggles with mental health. The individuals that work for Combat2Coffee are all veterans themselves and deliver a little toolbox talk on the impact of work stresses on your mental health and how important it is to open up.

Combat2Coffee offers a unique mobile service where they bring their coffee van to your site, providing FREE* coffee and cakes to operatives. There is a one-off cost to the client, with all proceeds going directly to Combat2Coffee. We’ve received fantastic feedback from our clients who have hosted these 'Coffee Mornings,' and we’d love to help you set this up at any sites you have in mind.

As a social enterprise, they’re more than happy to travel.

Here’s a bit more about what Combat2Coffee do:

  • They create safe community spaces within their coffee hubs and mobile coffee van events, where veterans, families, and anyone in the community facing mental health challenges can feel supported and connected.
  • Their outreach team works with a wide range of partners in both the statutory and voluntary sectors to create new opportunities for social prescribing and signposting. They build trusting relationships with those they support, guiding them on their journey and beyond.
  • Combat2Coffee offers work-ready support and training to veterans through their barista and roasting programme.
  • They provide positive outcomes for prisoners and ex-offenders through their prison barista training and café programme, as well as day-release café opportunities.
  • Combat2Coffee consistently campaigns to raise awareness of veteran mental health issues and promotes the Armed Forces Covenant to partners and businesses.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or if you’d like to discuss setting up an event.
