Wates Construction, one of O’Neill & Brennan’s supply chain partners, are holding their next Building Futures programme in Kensington and Chelsea from 8th to 19th of August. The Building Futures initiative is something that O’Neill & Brennan have been involved with before, conducting mock interviews at the Bournemouth event earlier this year.

Building Futures is fast approaching the milestone 1000th person helped into the construction industry, through working specifically with people who are unemployed to give them skills, qualifications, and confidence that they need to find permanent work. Through this initiative and others, Wates have been striving to improve the futures of not only individuals but also the communities which are left with a more employable workforce. The construction industry itself benefits from any new workers joining, as the skills shortage of recent years is still very much a reality. Any time the construction industry is boosted, so too, is the economy as a whole.

O’Neill & Brennan will be supporting this latest event by providing our recruitment beacons to ensure that local people are aware of this route into the industry and into employment in general. Statistic show that of those individuals who take part in the Building Futures programme, 55% have moved into employment, education, or further training.
