The One Nine Elms site, which O’Neill & Brennan are providing Logistics services to, is preparing for the second largest concrete pour in the history of UK Construction, with the Shard holding the record for the highest. The concrete pour area will be 1,850sq metres (approximately), with the deepest section being 4.7 meters deep which will see 5100m3 concrete be poured into it. There is also a large amount of rebar/steel (approximately 1400t) that will be used on the project, a figure much higher than used for the Shard.

O’Neill & Brennan are currently providing services for the following:

  • Logistics Management
  • Traffic Management / Gate Management
  • General Site Labour
  • Welfare Cleaning
  • Waste Management
  • Fire Management
  • Perimeter Hoarding
  • Pit Lane Management

The £1billion project is set to take around 6 years to build with the completion date expected in 2022 and includes 828 residential and market units across 1.14 million square feet of land.

Senior Logistics manager on the project, Eoin Mageean (O’Neill & Brennan), and his teams hard work has not gone unnoticed on the One Nine Elms project, as he was award Logistics Manager of the month as nominated by Bruce Veitch (Senior Contracts Manager).

Eoin has established himself as a vital member of the Multiplex team, and his knowledge of the construction process has helped both him and his team in being one step ahead of the daily/weekly challenges and processes on site.

The concrete pour will prove a major milestone on the project and O’Neill & Brennan will be providing 16 traffic marshals both days and nights to assist with the vehicle movement during the 36 hour concrete pour.

Keep up the great work!
