Our Social Value Executive, Alicia Dobie, had the privilege of attending Conscious Recruitment event, Enable Shropshire, with VINCI for one of our Logistics projects in Shrewsbury.
The event focused on being disibility confident, something we can say we are proud to have now officially achieved!
Alicia had this to say, "The day was packed with valuable insights from local charities, businesses, and authorities on how we can create more inclusive recruitment opportunities. We also heard directly from Enable Shropshire candidates, who shared what attracts (or deters) them from job adverts and what support they need from employers.
One of the biggest takeaways? The huge benefits of employing people with additional needs, and how small adjustments to job adverts and the interview process can make a big differnece in accessibility and inclusivity.
This event reinforced how important it is to keep learning, adapting, and enuring our hiring practices are as inclusive as possible."
