O’Neill & Brennan were given the opportunity to help support the mental health of the workforce at HMP Birmingham.
The mental health of the workforce is a priority, and we know that working in a prison environment must take its toll.
Following the passing of their Project Manager, Paul Britnell, the decision was made to get an on-site bereavement counsellor for all staff who were personally affected, and the turnout of people using the counsellor was high.
It made them realise that as a site they had a lot of people who require support. Therefore, they took the decision to make the on-site counsellor a monthly occurrence, accessible to everyone working on-site, offering much more than bereavement support.
We think this is a fantastic initiative and are happy we could help!
