On Saturday 7th of September, O’Neill & Brennan were proud to play host to a five a-side football tournament, the O&B Construction Cup 2019. It was the first time we have hosted the event and we are keen to act on the success of the tournament to ensure it becomes an annual event for all of our clients to look forward to.
Twelve companies entered the tournament, which was held in Powerleague Dublin in the Spawell complex. The weather played its part, as did the display of football, which was of a surprisingly high standard by all teams. We also had a family area to ensure our smaller spectators were kept entertained throughout the day, with face painters and plenty of fun activities on offer.
After the group stages were complete, the teams were then split into either the Cup or Plate finals based on group stage results. After intense quarter and semifinals, Castlethorn Construction ran out eventual and deserved winners after a hotly contested final win over BAM, to see them lift the inaugural O&B Construction Cup 2019. Siac-Colas went on to become plate winners in a close final against Clonmel Enterprises.
As well as the tournament, O’Neill & Brennan hosted a raffle in aid of The Lighthouse foundation, with the main prize being a Dublin Gaa jersey signed by the entire Dublin Senior Football panel. The prize was won by Conor Mc Loughlin of Duggan Brothers. The total raised for the day was €500 which O’Neill & Brennan have decided to match to make it €1000 altogether.
