According to recent government figures, the number of new homes completed in the UK in the year to June 2016 was 139,030, the second increase in as many years. It is expected that this trend will continue as the number of new homes started in that same period was 144,280.
While these figures offer some comfort as the nation continues to feel the effects of a housing crisis, they are still quite some way short of the 220,000 homes per year target which was set at the start of the current parliamentary cycle. For this reason the government is of course keen to ensure that house builders continue to increase their efforts.
All the time our supply chain partners are under pressure to increase output, O’Neill & Brennan will be happy to continue filling construction jobs across the UK, as it is anticipated that there will be an increased requirement for not just labour and trades operatives but also professional and technical staff. With this in mind, there has never been a better time to enter construction. Why not contact one of our regional offices today to discuss current vacancies and assess the barriers to entry in the industry?
