This week we have William Shokunbi joining us on our John Sisk project in Manchester. He’s spending the week doing work experience, which was organised by our Contracts Manager, Genevieve Odularu.

William will get to see how the site operates, and spend time with engineers on site. He wants to pursue a career in electrical engineering in university next September, so this work experience will be invaluable.

The construction industry has been facing a skills shortage, with a growing gap between retiring workers and new entrants. However, new research shows construction careers are set to surge, with 1.4 million young people currently considering a career in the industry. This is extremely encouraging to see and vital to achieve for the industry to thrive.
