Freelance Site Manager
Location: Wells, Somerset
Contract Duration: 3 working days – Friday 12th June, Monday 15th June, and Tuesday 16th June
Rate: Competitive daily rate (DOE)
We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Site Manager to provide short-term cover on a busy new-build residential development in Wells, Somerset. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and organised individual with a strong background in volume housebuilding to oversee day-to-day site operations and ensure works continue safely and efficiently during the cover period.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing daily site activities and coordinating subcontractors
- Maintaining high standards of health and safety compliance
- Monitoring programme progress and addressing any on-site issues
- Conducting site inspections and ensuring quality standards are achieved
- Liaising with the wider project team to ensure continuity of operations
- Keeping accurate site records and reporting as required
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Site Manager within the residential construction sector
- Valid SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid at Work certifications
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and make informed decisions
- Proven track record of delivering high standards of quality and safety on live construction sites
