Freelance Site Manager – Holiday Cover

Location: Bridgwater, Somerset
Duration: Monday 3rd August – Friday 7th August
Rate: £270 per day (CIS Umbrella)

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Freelance Site Manager to provide holiday cover on a high-quality residential development in Bridgwater.

Our client is one of the UK's most respected privately-owned housebuilders, renowned for delivering thoughtfully designed communities that combine traditional architecture with modern living. With a long-standing reputation for quality, customer satisfaction and sustainable development, they continue to invest in creating desirable neighbourhoods across England and Wales.

The development consists of a large, multi-phase scheme delivering a mix of two, three and four-bedroom traditionally built homes, together with associated infrastructure, landscaping and public open spaces. The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day site operations, ensuring work progresses safely, efficiently and to the high standards expected by the client.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day site activities during the holiday cover period.
• Coordinate subcontractors and monitor programme progress.
• Maintain the highest standards of health and safety.
• Carry out site inspections and quality checks.
• Ensure work is completed in line with programme and specification.
• Liaise with the project team to provide a seamless handover before and after the cover period.
• Maintain accurate site records and documentation.

Requirements

• Proven experience managing volume housebuilding developments.
• Valid SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid at Work certificates.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to take ownership of an active site with minimal supervision.
• Immediate availability for the full duration of the assignment.
