Senior Quantity Surveyor – Galway

DOE: €90k+

 

Overview:

Our client is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in County Galway. The successful candidate will work closely with the commercial and construction teams to ensure successful project delivery.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead cost control, commercial reporting, and financial management across multiple projects
  • Support commercial leadership and contribute to strategic project decisions while mentoring junior surveyors
  • Manage contract documentation (PWC, RIAI), subcontractor packages, and payment certifications
  • Evaluate tenders, negotiate variations and claims, and lead procurement and supplier agreements
  • Carry out valuations, ensure cost control, and maintain compliance with ISO/IMS standards
  • Deliver monthly cost reports and support commercial performance reporting
  • Work closely with site teams to align budgets with programme and project delivery

 

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering, Construction or a related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience working as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally in main contracting
  • Previous experience in commercial management, contract administration and cost control
  • Strong knowledge of subcontractor account management and procurement processes.
  • In depth understanding of Irish construction regulations, standards and best practices.
  • Proficient in excel; experience with Cubit, Procore and Asta is an  advantage.
  • Excellent negotiation, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
