Quantity Surveyor – North Dublin
D.O.E : €70k – €90k
Company Overview
An established Irish main contractor with a strong track record of delivering projects across Ireland is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team in North Dublin. The successful candidate will play a key role in the commercial management and successful delivery of a new civils project.
Job Summary
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets and financial forecasts for the project.
- Manage the tendering and procurement process, including preparing bills of quantities and contract documentation.
- Manage subcontractor accounts, valuations, payments and final accounts.
- Monitor project costs, budgets and cash flow throughout the project lifecycle.
- Administer contract terms and conditions, including the management of variations, claims and commercial risks.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure works remain commercially on track.
- Prepare and present regular financial reports, valuations, cost reports and updates to senior management and project stakeholders.
- Work closely with the Project Manager and site team to identify and manage commercial opportunities and risks.
- Assist with procurement, subcontractor management and cost control from project commencement through to completion.
- Maintain accurate commercial records and ensure contractual and company procedures are followed.
Qualifications and Experience
- Level 8 degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- 3+ years' experience in a Quantity Surveying role within the construction industry.
- Previous experience working on civils projects is essential.
- Main contracting experience is essential.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, commercial management and cost control.
- Experience with subcontractor procurement, valuations, variations, claims and final accounts.
- Proficiency in relevant software, including Excel and Quantity Surveying/estimating packages such as Cubit.
- Strong understanding of working on live construction sites and collaborating with project teams.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to manage workload effectively, meet deadlines and work towards challenging project goals.
