Senior Planner – County Cork
DOE: €80K – €90K
Overview:
Our client, an established main contractor delivering projects across Ireland, is seeking a Senior Planner to join their team in Cork. The successful candidate will lead planning and project controls, setting standards and ensuring consistency across the pre-construction and construction phases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and management of baseline contract programmes covering design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover, ensuring clear logic links and critical path analysis.
- Produce and maintain construction target programmes, tender event schedules, and subcontractor procurement programmes, incorporating design release and lead-in requirements.
- Develop 4D models and 2D phasing plans to demonstrate sequencing, logistics, and construction methodology, supporting effective project delivery.
- Identify programme risks and opportunities, implementing mitigation measures, float allowances, and advising on programme impacts for change management.
- Track progress and maintain accurate as-built programmes within a Common Data Environment, highlighting variances against baseline and supporting reporting requirements.
- Provide leadership and coordination across planning teams, including mentoring junior planners and presenting programme updates at weekly and monthly project reviews.
Qualifications:
- Degree/diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Project Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Training or certification in planning software (e.g., ASTA Powerproject)
- Membership or working towards CIOB, ICE, or APM
- Advanced ASTA Powerproject skills (e.g., reporting, resource management)
- Knowledge of NEC/JCT contracts
- Familiarity with BIM tools (e.g., Synchro) and collaborative data environments
- Training in communication, presentation, or people management skills
