Job Summary:

O’Neill & Brennan are currently recruiting for a Junior Purchaser for our client, a main contractor with ongoing projects across Ireland. The successful candidate will join their Galway team. This is a great opportunity to join a well-established and growing contractor, offering long-term career progression, exposure to live projects, and hands-on experience within a supportive commercial team.

Responsibilities:

• Source and purchase construction materials, tools, and services, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiate pricing and terms, and manage contracts.
• Track procurement costs, monitor expenses, and recommend cost-saving opportunities.
• Work closely with purchaser manager and site teams to ensure material needs align with project schedules.
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with regulations and sustainability goals.

Requirements:

• Experience working in the construction field in either a purchasing or administrative role.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Proficiency in procurement software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of the organisation.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
