Job Title: Groundworker

Location: Taunton, Somerset
Pay Rate: £19–£22 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)

Job Description

O'Neill and Brennan are looking for a reliable and hardworking Groundworkers to support general groundworks, drainage, and site preparation tasks on construction projects in the Taunton area. 

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake general groundworks duties, including:

  • Excavation and trench digging

  • Setting out works and assisting with levels

  • Installing drainage systems and pipework

  • Concrete, screeding, and blinding work

  • Assisting with kerbing, paving, and slab laying

• Help prepare and maintain site areas, keeping them tidy and compliant with safety standards

• Support plant operators and skilled trades on site

• Follow risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), and health & safety guidelines

• Use basic tools and equipment in a safe and competent manner

Requirements

• Previous groundworks experience preferred

• CSCS card or equivalent (labourer/groundworker)

• Strong work ethic and reliable attendance

• Good understanding of site health & safety
