Location: North Devon Position: Assistant Site Manager Contract: 3-month temporary contract

The opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Site Manager to join the team delivering a prestigious new-build residential development in North Devon.

This role would suit a skilled tradesperson who is ready to take the next step into site management.

Working alongside a highly experienced Site Manager, you will have the opportunity to shadow, learn and develop your management skills, gaining valuable exposure to the coordination and delivery of a modern residential development.

The role

Working closely with the Site Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the day-to-day management and coordination of site activities.

  • Supporting the delivery of the project in accordance with programme, quality and safety requirements.

  • Coordinating subcontractors and site operatives.

  • Monitoring workmanship and ensuring construction standards are maintained.

  • Assisting with health and safety compliance, inspections and site documentation.

  • Supporting the planning and sequencing of works.

  • Liaising with the Site Manager, subcontractors and other project stakeholders.

  • Developing your understanding of site management, with the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility.

About you

The ideal candidate will be a skilled tradesperson with a strong understanding of construction processes, who is now looking to progress into a management role.

You may already have some experience assisting with site coordination, or you may be an experienced tradesperson who is ready to develop the skills required to manage a construction site.

You should be:

  • Experienced within the construction industry, ideally with a trade background.

  • Organised, reliable and keen to learn.

  • Able to communicate effectively with site teams and subcontractors.

  • Committed to quality and safe working practices.

  • Proactive and willing to take responsibility.

  • Interested in developing your skills and experience in site management.

Essential qualifications

  • SMSTS

  • CSCS

  • First Aid
