O’Neill & Brennan are currently recruiting for a Junior Quantity Surveyor on behalf of our Client, a leading civil engineering company and contractor.

The Junior Quantity Surveyor will join the team on a project based in Cavan. The successful candidate must have a degree level qualification & minimum of 2+ years’ experience on civils projects.

Junior Quantity Surveyor Responsibilities include:

Procurement

• Management and control of procurement schedule
• Responsibility of Issuing of enquiries
• Responsibility of analysis of enquiry returns and compiling of comparisons for distribution to CCE Project Manager/Contracts Manager/Commercial staff
• Ensure compilation of delivery dockets (PoD’s – Proof of Delivery)
• Record of all deliveries
• File for correlation with invoices
• Return all PoD’s to Main Office for filing/accounts

Subcontract Management

• Drafting subcontracts, supplier agreements and plant hire agreements for final approval by commercial manager/s and CCE management
• Responsible for Administration of Subcontracts, supply agreement and plant hire agreements, i.e. assessments, notifications, change notifications etc
• Ensure Subcontractor register is maintained and up-dated monthly
• Ensure joint Contractor/Subcontractor measures are conducted to expedite payments

Main Contract Management and Admin

• To include all aspects from a commercial perspective i.e:
• Claim notifications – compilation of required information for review with Commercial team
• Responses to commercial correspondence (draft preparation only – to be submitted by PM for sign-off/approval prior to issue),
• Preparation of interim account application, interim measures, pursue certification, ensure invoices raised and pursue payment
• Preparation of commercial items required for monthly Project Manager report
• Progress in Period (ie: Works activities completed to date V’s Project totals)
• Details of any operational delays
• Procurement Schedules (Status of pending & placed orders)
• Change Order/Notice Tracker (Timelines for respect notices, responses, claims)

Junior Quantity Surveyor Requirements:

• Degree level qualification
• 2 + years’ experience in construction industry
• Self-starter with proven ability to work on their own initiative and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
