Our client is a leading and well known REGIONAL MAIN CONTRACTOR based in Hertfordshire. They have a large turnover and have a number of projects currently in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire.

ROLE: Our client is a MAIN CONTRACTOR based in Hertfordshire and have projects over the immediate area which includes Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire. The client works on fit-out, refurbishment and New Build (primarily commercial but some residential). Projects include Retail, education, Healthcare and commercial such as Pavilions, Cinemas, Football Clubs and Churches. The role of Site Manager will be responsible for ensuring the successful running of their site. The role could include but isn't limited to;

  • Supervising and overseeing the direction of the project (or a package), ensuring that the client’s specifications and requirements are met, reviewing progress and liaising with quantity surveyors to monitor cost
  • Overseeing the operations of a site on a day-to-day basis
  • Coordinating and supervising construction workers including several sub-contractors on site
  • Managing both internal and external construction works on site
  • Management of work program
  • Checking and preparing site reports, designs and drawings
  • Ensuring the project runs on time, safely and to budget
  • Carrying out risk assessments and method statements
  • Management of Inductions

PERSON: I must stress that my client is NOT interested in candidates who have been freelancing. This role is for someone with a strong construction background within the commercial arena and ideally within fit-out/refurbishment. Your construction background must be consistent and you will have ideally started construction after leaving school. Our client wants someone at the peak of their career and not someone wanting an easy life. Dynamic, driven and professional are all attributes our client wants in a person.

SALARY: The salary is reflective on the experience you have and the knowledge you can bring to the business (whilst meeting the above guidelines). You can expect a salary between £40-55k plus bonuses, car/car allowance, healthcare and pension.
