Quantity Surveyor

Location:  Waterford

Duration:  Contract

Salary:      Negotiable

Our Client, an established building contractor is currently seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to work with their team on a commercial project based in Waterford.

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will

  • Prepare cost analysis based on the architectural drawings, engineering estimates, materials required and labour involved
  • Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities
  • Final Account negotiations etc.
  • Dealing with clients/engineers/contractors.
  • Closely monitor and process project variations.
  • Prepare reports including cost reports and cash flow forecasts
  • Issuing tender queries and preparation of tender reports
  • Preparing progress applications and cost reports
  • Attend project and subcontractor meeting
  • Work as part of a team to ensure that the requirements of the client are delivered
  • Liaise and report to the Senior Quantity Surveyor
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Client Representatives to support the activities and maintain positive relations on behalf of the company
  • The representative of the company at all relevant site and other meetings

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will have

  • A Degree in Quantity Surveying
  • Minimum 5 - 10 years of professional experience with a proven track record
  • Experience working on commercial projects
  • A methodical way of thinking
  • Good knowledge of construction
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Good financial and numeracy management skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiating skills
  • The ability to absorb complex information and assess requirements readily
  • Computer literate
  • A clear understanding of HSE building regulations and legal guidelines
