£55,000 - £65,000 per annum


A new opportunity for an experienced residential Project Manager to lead a long-term housing regeneration scheme in Newport.

The position will entail leading a 500-unit residential project near Cardiff, incorporating a mix of private residential and affordable housing. This is a high-profile development, requiring an experienced project leader who is comfortable under-pressure with excellent client management skills.

In addition to management of high profile stakeholders and clients, this project will be setting leading standards for quality within the region and as such need to be led by someone with a passion for quality and customer service.

The site in Newport is delivering a mix of private residential and affordable housing, incorporating a mix of houses and apartments.

Further, this role will bring exposure to high profile stakeholders and clients, with the project setting leading standards for quality within the region.

The successful candidate will currently be either a Senior Site Manager or Project Manager within the residential market, working either for a large developer or contractor.

You will be responsible for running the site, reporting to a Project Director. It is crucial that the candidate possesses a passion for quality and customer service.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Successfully delivered (as the lead manager) residential developments in excess of 300 units, from start to finish.
    • Ability to drive high performance teams, achieving targets for health & safety, quality, programme and customer service.
    • Key focus on customer service to ensure quality of build on handover.
      • Able to identify areas to improve build programme without risking quality.
      • Experience of managing public sector clients and individual end-users.
        • Manage the health & safety as a priority across site operations, ensuring everyone on site is in accordance with company procedures.
        • Excellent knowledge of Building Regulations, NHBC and Health & Safety legislation.
        • Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and trades to ensure they are meeting key build milestones.
        • Co-operate and work closely with the National House Building Council (NHBC) to carry out site and plot inspections.
        • A natural and engaging communication style, demonstrating a passion and excellence for developing trusting, sustainable and robust relationships both internally and externally.
        • SMSTS, CSCS Manager’s card and First Aid qualified.
        • Member of CIOB (desirable not essential).

Desired Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will need to display a passion for customer service and high quality homes. You will therefore be customer-focussed in your approach and from either a contractor or housebuilder background, having won awards for your work.
