Our client is a leading Residential Housebuilder based in Hertfordshire. 

ROLE: Our client is a Residential Housebuilder based in Hertfordshire and have projects over the immediate area which includes Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire. The client builds quality residential housing using traditional build methods. They have projects around the Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire area and need a Contracts Manager to manage a number of existing & upcoming sites across the region. The role includes all aspects of Project Management, Site Management and Cost Consultancy pre and post contract duties including preparation of tenders, cost planning, compiling estimates, contract administrative agreement of final accounts, value engineering and procurements / standardisation work. The role of Contracts Manager will be responsible for ensuring the successful running of a portfolio of projects. The role could include but isn't limited to;

  • Take responsibility for the successful delivery of the project from inception to completion
  • Manage the delivery of projects, producing the required deliverables including budget, time constraints and quality requirements.
  • Implement the preparation and maintenance of Project Reports including programme, quality and cost
  • Advise and implement service supply appointments including tender selection and documentation etc.
  • Chair meetings as agreed with the client and where appointed direct/instruct on behalf of the client
  • Manage a number of projects at any one time
  • Manage all phases of the project and respond to all matters that may affect the client’s objective. Implement recognised project control techniques including value and risk management processes
  • Liaise with all client suppliers and operators to ensure the client brief and specification are adopted and delivered to agreed programmes
  • Manage on-going project reviews, change control and completion activities
  • Mentor colleagues to achieve relevant experience and qualification

LOCATION: Our client is looking for a strong Contract Manager living in or around Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire or Bedfordshire as this is where the client and their projects are based.

PERSON: You will need to be a Contracts Manager who has predominantly worked on Residential New Build projects. This would suit someone who has had at least a couple of years’ experience as a Contracts Manager and ideally you will have worked for a decent sized Housebuilder managing projects up to and around £10m. Our client has a great working environment and you will be able to make decisions. They have a great team so you'll find lots of support from the business. This role is for someone who is currently in a full time, permanent role and looking for a new challenge. This role will be incredibly hands on. You must have these core skills; Good communication skills, Problem solving skills, Decision-making ability, Commercial awareness, Ability to motivate others, Team working skills and a Good knowledge of building methods and regulations. Ability to manage a number of projects at any one time.

PACKAGE: In return for the above experience our client will pay between £45-60k basic with performance bonus, company car or car allowance, contribution pension and private healthcare.
