Contracts Manager

£65,000 - £75,000 per annum


A new opportunity for an experienced housing Contracts Manager to join an award-winning housebuilder operating across the South Midlands.

Operating predominantly across Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Warwickshire and parts of Birmingham, you will be responsible for overseeing multiple sites, providing guidance and structure to Site Managers and their teams to ensure the business delivers high quality, contemporary homes with excellent customer service.

With the business currently on an impressive growth plan, a Contracts Manager with strong control of programme and budget is essential.

The company are developing a brand recognised for high quality, spacious and light developments, with emphasis on kitchen designs and bathroom specifications.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Experience of working in a Contracts Manager capacity overseeing multiple volume housing sites, or as Senior Site Manager running long-term housing sites in excess of 500 units.
  • Proven leader of people – ability to drive high performance teams, achieving targets for quality, customer service and Health & Safety.
  • Key focus on customer service to ensure quality of build on handover, working in adherence to NHBC standards and Considerate Constructors Scheme.
  • Excellent knowledge of Building Regulations, NHBC and Health & Safety legislation.
  • Develop strong relationships with subcontractors and trades to ensure they are meeting key build milestones.
  • A natural and engaging communication style, demonstrating a passion and excellence for developing trusting, sustainable and robust relationships both internally and externally.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrable track record of achieving programme targets along with continued high levels of customer service and finishes.
  • Able to act both as a manager and mentor to Site Managers; offering both guidance and autonomy to run excellent sites.
  • Detailed knowledge of site programming.
  • Excellent team player.
  • CSCS card, SSSTS or SMSTS, and valid First Aid.

A Contracts Manager who nurtures excellent stakeholder relations, bringing a passion for quality and customer service. As a manager, you will demonstrate ability to lead your team to delivering excellent sites, developing good relations with NHBC whilst empowering Site Managers to run their sites with pride and distinction. This role will ideally suit someone who is passionate about the industry, committed to their career, and understands the challenges of the housing sector.
