Construction Safety Consultant

Are you a Construction Safety professional living in the Northants region and looking for a role with a bit more work / life balance?

 

Our client are a SME safety consultancy who are looking to take on one more person to work in the construction safety consulting department, focusing on local clients and projects.

 

Role Description:

  • Provide health and safety support and advice to (predominately) construction based Clients, including:
  • Developing and maintaining Health and Safety Policies,
  • Developing Risk Assessments and Method Statements,
  • Developing and maintaining Health and Safety Management Systems,
  • Carrying out Health and Safety Site Inspections and Audits,
  • Attending pre-start meetings and design team meetings,
  • Providing CDM support and advice to Clients' Designers and Contractors,
  • Preparing Pre-Construction Information, Construction Phase Plans etc,
  • Completing third party accreditation applications (CHAS, Safecontractor etc.),
  • Providing telephone and email support as required,
  • Investigating accidents and incidents.

The successful candidate will need to be comfortable operating on large and small construction sites, and have a good understanding of practical interpretation and application of CDM 2015.
 
Their Clients need proportional, solution-based advice, guidance and support.
 
The role involves travel around the UK, predominately within a 50-mile radius of Corby and into London occasionaly.
 
The role requires occasional overnight stays, usually for just one night per month.
 
They place great importance upon professional development and, subject to a strong business case, would be willing to support the successful candidate to enhance their skills and capabilities, both generally, and in specific areas.
 
This area of the business has significant potential for growth, and would suit someone who is hard-working, self-motivated, ambitious and keen to benefit from the results of their contribution towards it.
 
The starting salary for the role would be between £38-43k, depending upon experience and qualifications, although there would be opportunity for an ambitious candidate to increase this over time, subject to the performance of this area of the business.
 
The role also comes with a pension scheme, death in service benefit, a profit-related bonus scheme and employee support programme.
