Business Development Manager (Kilcock/Nationwide)

Our client is currently looking for an ambitious professional to join them as a Business Development Manager. The successful candidate will enjoy an opportunity to join a progressive, growing company and assist in this expansion and consolidation into markets such as but not limited to,  Education , Healthcare , Pharma , IT , Commercial , Retail , etc. by capitalising on untapped opportunities and implementing strategies from start to finish. 

Reporting to the Business Development Director you will join a small, highly professional team with a proven track record in identifying and exploiting new opportunities.

Job Specification

  • The position requires an individual possessing an entrepreneurial spirit and strategic intellect
  • Be an independent self-starter that thrives on challenge and delivering results
  • Leverage network of industry related contacts to facilitate introductions and meetings with influential personnel
  • Possess the ability to assess opportunities in the market place and target specific markets and identify, develop and maintain new business relationships with potential clients/key senior personnel in the marketplace.
    • Together with the Senior Management, establish a protocol for the identification of new business opportunities and subsequent evaluation and assessment of new business opportunities (to include technical, quality, budget, programme, buildability, sustainability, financial considerations)
    • To meet, where possible, with end-user clients at a formative stage of the project, and to seek to influence the client's procurement route to the benefit of the company.
    • Provide presentations to prospective clients on behalf of the Company
    • Plan, actively pursue and execute business development strategies
    • Prepare market assessment studies highlighting feasibility of new business initiatives and then prepare a detailed business plan.
    • Prepare  Monthly Business Development progress reports  for the BD Director, follow up on action items in a timely fashion
    • Prepare weekly up-dates for Senior Management Team
    • Maintain the Prequalification Tracker, including upcoming pre qualifications and potential opportunities
    • Oversee the production of Prequalification for sign off by BD Director, follow up on action items in a timely fashion
    • Oversee the maintenance of  Prequalification database
  • Work proactively on representing the group strategy and positive corporate culture to business partners and other stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple conflicting priorities in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills and the ability to make formal and informal presentations to individuals at all levels within an organization, and to large and small groups.
  • The ability to travel to domestic and international destinations.
  • To meet, where possible, with end-user clients at a formative stage of the project, and to seek to influence the client's procurement route to the benefit of the company.

Job Requirements

  • Business and/or Construction related degree desirable
  • Experience in a similar Business development team would be advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills.
