Assistant Design Manager – Main Contractor, West London - £35,000 to £45,000 plus Car or Allowance, Bonus and Package.

I am recruiting an Assistant Design Managers for an award winning main contractor on a project in West London.

They are recruiting for this position as the have just secured this new project.

The Client is one of the UKs leading main contractors with projects for 2017 worth over two billion pounds. There construction teams work across commercial, education, residential and large scale cut and carve structural projects with values ranging from five million through to eighty million. You will get exceptional career development.

This would suit someone from an architectural background who has worked on large RC frame residential developments.

Project:

  • Brand new £28 million landmark scheme.
  • Construction of a new 20-storey mixed tenure residential tower.
  • In total the development comprise of 159 apartments.

The Role of Assistant Design Manager:

  • Assist in the production of the Contractors proposals.
  • Support the Design Manager in the production and management of the design programme and Information Required Schedule.
  • Assist the Design Manager in the implementation of the design management procedures to ensure the timely production and issue of information.
  • Review/comment on all design deliverables, including specialist supplier elements and interfaces to establish that they are within budget are fully coordinated and are buildable.
  • Coordinate project team comments, and resolve any design related construction queries with the design team.
  • Control design change process management.
  • Organise and chair regular design team meetings.
  • Review the design with respect to mitigating Health and Safety issues prior to construction.
  • Ensure the project team are working to the agreed Contractor Proposals.
  • Provide guidance to the Project team on design related issues.

The ideal candidate:

  • Will have a minimum of three years experience gained in Architects practice or with a Contractor/Developer.
  • Minimum of one years of Site Experience/Project Based.
  • Ideally Degree Educated.
  • Will have up to date knowledge of UK building regulations and NHBC standards.
  • Be ambitious and keen to progress within an established company.
