O’Neill & Brennan are currently recruiting for a Group Procurement Manager on behalf of our Client, a sustainable engineering solutions provider in Ireland and the UK.

The role of the Group Procurement Manager is to facilitate Company growth projections through a range of cost reduction initiatives, improved profitability, efficient management of people and processes, best in class supplier relationships, sourcing new products as opportunities arise and industry leading customer services.

The Group Procurement Manager will join their team based in Dublin.

Procurement Manager Responsibilities:

  • Develop a best in class working relationship with all key stakeholders across the business.
  • Target and deliver cost reductions in accordance with overall business objectives.
  • Draw up a strategy and operational plan to transition to a more centralised procurement function within the business on a phased basis over time.
  • Manage, motivate, and develop a team to optimum performance in a business where continuous improvement is a prerequisite.
  • Expand on a robust International Approved Supplier’s list to meet business needs in all territories.
  • Source new products and services as opportunities arise.
  • Regular supplier relationship management and performance appraisals.
  • Negotiate long-term contracts, adding value to the business by ensuring competitive supplier price points to ensure optimum costs and reliable supply.
  • Process to conclusion all disputed purchases of goods and services for the protection of the company and with fairness to the supplier.
  • Prepare and maintain cost reports to maximize efficiency within the business.
  • Manage working capital to pre agreed targets.
  • Develop a monthly Procurement Department Performance dashboard capturing the key metrics for the attention of the Executive Leadership Team.
  • Support the provision of financial information and commercial support to budget owners and senior management.

Procurement Manager Specific Requirements:

  • Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in a similar senior procurement management role.
  • Experience in the engineering/construction industry is preferred but not essential.
  • Excellent negotiator
  • Excellent understanding and deep knowledge of SAP transactions such as ME51N/52N/53N, ME21N/22N/23N, ZME9F_2, ZAPRD, ZCAPRV, MIGO, FBL1N (as a minimum).
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office (mainly Excel).
  • Ability to handle several ongoing projects and to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication, customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence key stakeholders including senior management, engineers, operations, finance, and supply chain management personnel.
  • Results orientation - deliver measurable and auditable results in policy deployment targets and key performance indicators.
  • Process orientation – establish and follow structured processes for evaluating data, developing project scope, financial analysis, data reporting, supplier management and acquisition integration
  • Ability to engage with suppliers and subcontractors at procurement stage and in the delivery of the scope of supply during contract delivery.
