Soft Services Manager

£35,000 - £40,000 per annum


Soft Services Manager - Torness Power Station - F/T, Permanent Position

Reporting to the Site General Manager, the Soft Services Manager will be responsible for the full Soft Services operational, financial and commercial remit on an energy contract. These operational duties include Industrial, Domestic, Catering, Sub-Contractors & co-ordination of additional agency staff in support of station statutory outage periods.

The Soft Services Manager will deputise for the Site General Manager as and when required.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience with a record of delivery in a facilities management role of managing 50+ employees and sub-contractors
  • Sound understanding of H&S, Environment and QA procedures
  • Effective and decisive organisational skills with experience in introducing new ideas and approaches to benefit the contract
  • Experience of developing operational teams, focused on service delivery
  • Ability to price and manage budgets
  • Be able to rectify problems where appropriate (following correct procedures)
  • Carry out appropriate risk assessments before undertaking any work
Experience & Qualifications:
  • Experience of managing FM services at a Management level within an industrial environment.
  • Further or higher education qualifications in non-technical disciplines - Membership of Professional body, e.g. Associate, Member. (desirable)
  • Experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential as full training will be given.
  • Good written and communicating skills
  • IT literate with knowledge of Microsoft applications and other information management systems.
  • IOSH, SMSTS or the like
