HVAC (Air Conditioning) & Refrigeration Engineer - Torness Power Station, Dunbar

My client are seeking an HVAC/Refrigeration Engineer to be based in Torness Power Station, Dunbar. This is a contract position, with the potential to go perm for the right candidate. The successful candidate will provide Air Con and/or Chiller maintenance and installation works on site. In addition, they should be experienced in Installing & Commissioning systems and carrying out necessary work on air con, chillers and refrigeration systems, ensuring maximum system functionality. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Awareness of risk assessment and working safely with equipment
  • Ability to follow work instructions (work order cards and permits to work)
  • Be competent to perform Point of Work Risk Assessments
  • As an effective member of the Hard Services Team, you will be focused on customer care with a “can do” attitude with the flexibility and adaptability to work within the team in a changing business environment
  • Be able to rectify problems where appropriate (following correct procedures)
  • Identify and report areas and procedures that fail to meet expected standards (Safety, Technical and Environmental)
  • Carry out appropriate risk assessments before undertaking any work

Minimum Requirements:

  • Recognised Apprenticeship/NVQ Qualification/City and Guilds
  • 17th/18th Edition Electrical Installation Inspection
  • Testing to BS7671 or greater (preferred but not Essential)
  • Experience in commercial and industrial installations/maintenance involving chiller and refrigeration systems.
  • Testing and inspection
  • Installation and Commissioning experience
  • Experience in the relevant field preferred
  • Basic PC skills are desirable
  • An intermediate knowledge of health and safety requirements in similar environment is essential
