The Project Managers is an integral component in helping to deliver a successful construction project. Their role is to preside over every aspect which includes everything from planning, execution, monitoring, quality control and handover. A Project Managers is responsible for makings sure project milestones and targets are met, within an agreed timeframe and budget.

As well as having individual objectives to meet, a Project Managers is also responsible for a team, ensuring their key deliverables are achieved. They will need to forecast and outline a scope of works required for the project, undertaking the following key duties:

  • Planning
  • Supervising
  • Setting goals and objectives
  • Keeping projects on time
  • Staying on budget
  • Regularly reporting to senior management
  • Dealing with disputes
  • Drafting contracts
  • Managing risk

Typical salary range

Average salary: £41,993.

Qualifications

NVQ levels 4 and 5 in Project Management.
NVQ levels 3, 4 and 5 in Business Improvement Techniques
.
NVQs at levels 3, 4 and 5 specific to project management in construction
Professional qualifications in project management from the Association for Project Management (APM), Project Management Institute (PMI) or the Chartered Management Institute (CMI)
