Construction Site Manager – City Centre - Co. Dublin
Salary: €72K – €80k+
Company Overview:
A Dublin based construction company are seeking to recruit an experienced construction manager for a project in the city centre.
Job Summary:
This is a permanent, full-time position, it would be best suited to an ambitious, goal-oriented Site Manager. The successful candidate will join their team in Dublin city centre and reporting directly to the Senior Management.
Your responsibilities will be as below:
Key Responsibilities for a Construction Site Manager:
- Take charge of the overall site management and supervision of the works on site on a day to day basis, including facilities and services
- Delivery of the job on time, within specification and on budget whilst maintaining high safety, environmental and quality standards.
- Comply with the projects operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and quality, regulations, and safety protocols and BCAR inspection.
- Oversee main contractor staff, subcontractors and service providers; ensuring their performance, training, and adherence to quality standards.
- Implementation of regular programmes together with the issue of programme details to subcontractors.
- Coordinate progress on site with Contracts Manager and Quantity Surveyor, with regard to, contractors and vendors, to address their needs, resolve issues, and maintain positive relationships.
- Conduct regular inspections and assessments of the site to identify and step ahead of requirements, safety hazards, and opportunities for improvement.
- Manage on site activity to ensure just in time delivery with procurement schedules as scheduled, ensuring effectiveness and value for money.
- Coordinate regular look ahead in conjunction with the overall project programme.
- Management of H&S procedures to the highest standard of compliance.
Qualification and Experience for a Construction Site Manager:
- Construction qualification (not essential) or a trade qualification is required.
- Proven experience as a Site Manager in a similar role on domestic projects.
- Good knowledge of building regulations, BCAR and H&S legislation.
- Good IT skills, MS Office, Excel and willing to learn web based platforms
- MS Project an advantage (but not essential)
- Setting out and inspecting of the various elements during the course of construction.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage staff and subcontractors.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to think critically.
- Proficiency in using computer software and systems relevant to site management and reporting.
- Fluent English (verbal and written) a must.
