Our Client a Large Mechanical Contractor is currently recruiting for a Site Engineer / Co-ordinator to be able to manage and assess the day-to-day workload on sites in the Dublin area.
You will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of High density residential, health and hotel developments while managing the customer interface and specialist perspective.
- Act as the Mechanical Engineering lead on site and primary point of contact & technical advisor for subcontractors, craftspeople, and operatives on the construction site.
- Conduct site surveys, set out, and level the project site accurately.
- Verify plans, drawings, and quantities to ensure compliance with design specifications.
- Oversee the selection and procurement of materials, proposing cost-effective solutions for the project. Oversee Submittal and Procurement process.
- Manage and interpret contract design documents provided by the client or main architect engineer.
- Collaborate with consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, quantity surveyors, and other workforce members involved in the project.
- Liaise with local authorities to ensure adherence to construction regulations and by-laws.
- Maintain regular communication with clients and their representatives, providing progress updates and attending meetings as necessary.
- Supervise the site labour force and subcontractors, efficiently organizing plant and site facilities to meet project deadlines.
- On site coordination with Main Contractor and other trades including attending meetings as necessary
- Day to day Engineering management of scope, programme, and resources
- Ensure strict adherence to quality control and health and safety standards on site.
- Prepare regular reports as required to keep stakeholders informed of project progress.
- Attendance at weekly meetings with Design Team / Main Contractor
- Develop positive relationship with all project stakeholders.
- Assisting Project Manager in report on project status
- Day to day management of subcontractors on site
- Resolve unexpected technical difficulties and other issues that may arise during the construction process.
- Commissioning Lead for the Project
- Develop junior Engineer’s in their role when needed.
- Assisting in Generation and Uploading of weekly progress reports.
- Reviewing & managing red line drawings for as installed drawing
- Maintaining the drawing register and revision control
- Preparation of company health & safety documents and the undertaking of project risk assessments
- Preparation of mechanical services operation & maintenance manuals
- Liaises with draughting/BIM department on project requirements.
- Assistance & interaction with the estimating department
- Extracting information from drawing revisions for pricing
- Maintaining project submittal, procurement & RFI schedules
- Managing programming of works in conjunction with the Contracts Manager
- Maintaining reporting & ensure compliance to the quality management system
- Any other ad hoc duties as may be reasonably required by Management.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Relevant degree or equivalent in engineering with Mechanical background.
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing sites.
- Mechanical and Construction industry knowledge essential.
- Ability to read, understand and create contractual requirements, scope objectives and financial reports.
- IT skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication skills.
