O'Neill & Brennan are currently recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a Civil Engineering contractor based in Stoke. Candidates MUST have experience in high civils/rail projects and must have minimum 5 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveyor Role role.
The Role:
- Working closely with the existing commercial and operational team to ensure our clients remain happy with the relationship built over many years.
- To be aware of construction and civils engineering principles and methods relating to the works undertake
- Establish and develop commercial valuation process and management of procurement procedures.
- To maximise the planned gross margin on projects and support the achievement of the project's budgeted profitability.
- Update EoL forecast 2 weekly basis in conjunction with PMs/APMs and Agents based on Prompt presentation of all applications for payment, including all contractual entitlements.
- Preparation and presentation of forward work schedules and cash flows.
- Procurement, negotiation and placing of sub-contract Orders.
- Financial and commercial management of sub-contractors through to settlement of theirfinal accounts.
- Ensuring that all contractual letters/ notices and information are presented in accordance with the contract requirements.
- Preparation of appropriate documentation in support of additional payment, variations, claims etc.
- Commercial support to the site and contracts management team.
- Commercial support to the estimating and procurement teams.
- Overview and support of quantity surveyors under training as appropriate.
Requirements:
- Higher level education (degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification.
- IT skills essential MS Excel, Word, and Project
- Excellent commercial and contractual experience
- Proven experience in a similar role
- Experience of client and sub-contractor management
- Good, sound knowledge of Rail and civils industry
- Proven communication skills
- Excellent client liaison and negotiation skills
- Excellent numerical and report writing skills
