Document Controller – Major Multi-Phase Scheme – Bristol Area £30,000+ (negotiable DOE – for an experienced operator who can start immediately) South-West Bristol | Long-Term Opportunity | 5–10 Year Secured Pipeline

An established Tier 2 main contractor is looking for a switched-on Document Controller to join the site-based team on one of the region’s largest and longest-running projects.

Currently through enabling works and moving into full production from autumn 2025, the scheme is structured in multiple phases with the first phase running circa three years and the overall programme offering genuine job security for the next 5–10 years.

This is a large-scale, greenfield development incorporating complex civils, deep basements, sustainable structural solutions and significant infrastructure packages. It is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys a busy, varied document control role on a high-profile job that will run for the majority of the decade.

The Role Reporting to the Design Manager and working closely with planning, commercial and site teams, you will take full ownership of the document control function, ensuring total accuracy and traceability at all times.

Key Duties

  • Maintain live drawing and document registers (electronic)
  • Issue, track, supersede and archive all revisions
  • Control distribution of drawings and technical information
  • BREEAM evidence coordination and folder management
  • Quality-check incoming information before release to site
  • Compile and track Health & Safety Files and O&M Manuals
  • Ensure full compliance with ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 procedures
  • Provide occasional cover for site administration duties

About You Essential

  • Proven document control or technical administration experience within construction
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills (particularly Excel & Outlook)
  • First-class organisation and meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure and hit tight deadlines
  • Strong communication skills – written and verbal

Highly Desirable

  • Previous main-contractor site experience
  • Familiarity with common EDMS platforms (Viewpoint, Aconex, Asite, 4Projects, etc.)
  • Competence with AutoCAD viewer/DWG files and Adobe Acrobat
  • Experience of BREEAM projects and final handover documentation
