Design Engineer – Cork

DOE: €60K – €65K 

Overview:

Our client, a main contractor with projects across Ireland, is seeking a Design Engineer in Cork with building engineering experience and knowledge of local authority projects. The successful candidate will manage design requirements for tenders/projects and support design coordinators as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Manage design consultants and sub consultants along with design sub-contractors to ensure correct and timely delivery of all design related information for the execution of the works on site.
• Manage design co-ordinators and act as mentor to them for the projects they are involved in.
• Input into the Employers Requirement/Contractor Proposal Compatibility.
• Manage and assist the Design Co-ordinator during the construction phase.
• Chair and minute Design meetings and ensure production of information in line with the design.

Qualifications:

• Degree in construction related discipline.
• Minimum six years’ construction industry experience.
• Knowledge of EU design standards, geotechnical considerations, and construction sequencing.
• Proficient in CAD/BIM tools (AutoCAD, BIM 360) for preparing drawings and preliminary designs.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational / planning skills.
• Highly technical approach, problem solving capacity and solution driven.
• Excellent communication oral and written, with strong interpersonal skill.
