Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) has acquired a portion of an O’Connell Street site in Dublin for the MetroLink project.
The Hammerson site spans around 200 metres along the capital’s main street and is around two acres in size.
The site was once home to the Carlton Cinema and had formed part of a €500million redevelopment plan for the area by Hammerson, the UK-based property group.
TII stated that bringing the site into public ownership is an important step in facilitating the development of the MetroLink.
