Construction has started on over 1,100 homes in north county Dublin this morning.
The Land Development Agency (LDA) has commenced construction on a total of 1,162 homes in Balbriggan and Skerries. The sod was turned by Minister for Housing James Browne this morning on two new housing developments - Hampton Demesne in Balbriggan and Priory Fields in Skerries.
Joining the Minister were representatives from the LDA and its construction partners Ballymore and Lydon, along with Fingal County Council. The Hampton Demesne development, being constructed by Ballymore, will consist of 817 Affordable Purchase, Cost Rental and social homes. These will be provided across a variety of housing options including one, two and three-bed flats; two, three, and four-bed houses; and three-bed duplexes.
