The Construction Industry Federation has warned that escalating costs, particularly fuel and raw materials, are continuing to weigh heavily on Irish construction firms, according to its latest quarterly outlook.

The federation’s Q1 2026 Construction Outlook Survey, based on responses from 200 companies between 30 January and 24 February, shows that 79 per cent of firms reported a year-on-year rise in raw material costs in the final quarter of 2025.

The organisation also cautioned that the recent surge in oil prices following the outbreak of the war in Iran could accelerate further cost increases in the months ahead.
