Ireland’s construction market is set to expand by 10pc by 2027 to more than €20.4bn, with activity in civil engineering and commercial projects spearheading the growth.

A new report published by UK-based Construction Information Services (CIS) reckons that despite the huge demand in Ireland for homes, the residential sector here will deliver cumulative growth of just 5pc between 2026 and the end of 2027.

That compares to the 20pc growth in project start values expected in civil engineering and commercial projects.
