O’Neill & Brennan were thrilled to learn that one of our own Irish Directors, Glenn Ryan, had been appointed as the New Kildare Senior Football Manager ahead of the 2022 Alliance League and All Ireland Inter County campaign.

Having joined O’Neill & Brennan back in 2004, Glenn has been a massive part of O’Neill & Brennan’s growth over the last number of years. Having represented the Kildare Senior Team as their captain, Glenn showed immense leadership during some of Kildare’s most recent success, playing under GAA legend Mick O’Dywer. He went on to lift the Leinster Championship in 1998 and 2000 respectfully, as well as winning two All Stars in the process. He also led the Lilywhites to an All Ireland Final in 1998, which was Kildare’s first final in 63 years.

Glenn succeeds Kerry native Jack O’Connor, and is gifted the task of competing in Division 1 next year, following Kildare’s promotion from Division 2 this year.

O’Neill & Brennan always strive to support and encourage our employee’s hobbies and interests away from the work place, whether it be sport or music. It is a vital and key aspect of their character, which plays a massive role in productivity throughout the company.

Dan O’Neill, O’Neill & Brennan Chairman and Co-Founder, had this to say, “Glenn has shown immense commitment, enthusiasm, compassion, and leadership as well as striving for perfection in his work since joining O’Neill & Brennan. He joined the company as a Business Development Manager and has made his way through the ranks to become a highly respected Director within the business. Glenn’s passion for GAA was always seen as a benefit to the company as he was able to bring fantastic leadership qualities from the pitch to the work place. We wish him all the best of success in his new role of Kildare manager.”

This isn’t Glenn’s first venture into GAA Inter County management. He managed the Kildare u21 footballer’ in 2008, which saw them win a Leinster Championship and they came runner’s up in the All Ireland final. He enjoyed a stint as Longford Senior Football Manager from 2009-2013. He brought some success as the slashers won back-to-back league titles in 2011 and 2012.

A star-studded backroom team of Johnny Doyle, Dermot Earley as well as former O’Neill & Brennan employee and current Ballyboden St.Endas Manager Anthony Rainbow will join Glenn. All of which were part of Kildare’s previous successes as players and all have won All Star Awards as players.

Glenn Ryan spoke to us about his recent appointment and what it means to him. “As a player who wore the white jersey for a number of years, to now manage Kildare Senior Football team is a great honour. However, I would not be able to under take this opportunity without the support of my fantastic colleagues at O’Neill & Brennan. Since joining the company in 2004, Dan O’Neill, Gerry Brennan (Co-Founders), and Martin Callan (Irish Managing Director) have shown great confidence, loyalty, and faith in me, and it is very comforting to have their support and backing as I take on the Kildare Management role. For that, I am hugely thankful.

Our people in the Dublin, Cork, Galway and Naas offices work brilliantly together as a team. If I can foster the same drive, ambition, integrity and loyalty, which is integral to working for O’Neill and Brennan, Kildare will achieve great success.

We have a diverse following across all our staff, Dubs, Mayo, Meath, Cork, Galway, Donegal, Leitrim and Monaghan….I hope I get to upset a few of ye along the way."

Everyone at O’Neill & Brennan wishes Glenn and his Kildare players and backroom team the very best of luck for the coming season.
