The future of Wicklow’s long‑promised park and ride network has been thrown into fresh uncertainty after senior National Transport Authority officials told the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) that construction of the Ashford–Rathnew facility may not begin in 2027.
The project has been through every statutory and public process required. A full public consultation in 2024 drew significant engagement from residents concerned about congestion on the N11, access to the town centre and the need for reliable commuter options.
