Plans for almost 90 new social housing units in Cork City have been approved, where homes will be on sale at 20% below open market value.

City councillors approved two separate social housing schemes at their July meeting — one which will deliver 80 new social homes at Glyntown, Glanmire, and the other which will deliver eight new units near Ballincollig town centre.

The Glyntown scheme, accessed via East Cliff Road, will include four three-storey buildings to provide a mix of 30 three-, two- and one-bedroom apartments, as well as two four-storey apartment blocks, to provide a mix of 48 three, two and one-bedroom apartments.
