Government launches new scheme to kickstart apartment construction

A Government scheme worth almost half a billion euro in funding has gone to tender. The Croí Cónaithe scheme aims at delivering 5,000 new apartments in Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway and Waterford. This is the third time the Housing Agency has made a call for developments under this scheme with five contracts signed so far for a total of 582 apartments. The aim of this scheme is to bridge the gap between the cost of building apartments and the market sale price.

Construction of Defence Forces communications facility announced

Tánaiste and Minister for Defence Micheál Martin announced a new construction project for the Defence Forces this week. The €8.6 million project will see the development of a new Communications and Information Services workshop facility at their training grounds in the Curragh, Co Kildare. The new facility will contain important communication equipment and larger vehicle-based systems. Mythen Construction will carry out the works on this project.
