Construction Activity Returned to Growth in March

For the first time since June 2023 Construction activity rose in Ireland, new data shows this is the most marked rate in nearly two years. BNP Paribas Real Estate Ireland Construction Index rose above the 50 no change mark to 51.6. Residential and Commercial projects drove this growth with Residential projects registering their biggest increase since May 2022. Commercial ended a four-month sequence of decline with growth in March.

Ennis Data Centre Plans Given Green Light

A major data centre in Ennis Co. Clare has been given the green light from An Bord Pleanála. The plans include six two-storey data halls over the 145-acre site as well as the demolition of eight farm outbuildings. Works on the data centre are likely to commence later this year and are likely to last for six years. 1,200 jobs are to be created during the construction period.
