National Children’s Hospital
The total cost of the National Children's Hospital is set to increase to €2.24 billion. The government has said that the increase in capital budget "will address areas identified in the 2019 report, the New Children’s Hospital Independent Review of Escalation in Costs, carried out by PwC". BAM are expected to hand the hospital over to the State before the end of 2024, with a six-month fit-out process to then take place before the expected opening in May 2025.
CIF’s Q1 Outlook Survey
According to the Construction Industry Federation’s Quarter 1 Outlook Survey, turnover and employment continue to increase across the construction sector. 33% of construction companies surveyed expect turnover to increase in 2024. 26% report an increase in the total number of people they employ with 29% expecting this trend to increase over the next three months. Even with increases in these areas 68% experienced a YOY increase in the cost of raw materials whilst 52% said that the increase in costs continues to impact the pricing on their projects.
Dalymount Park Redevelopment Project
9 years after acquiring Dalymount Park Bohemians FC were finally giving the green light to redevelop their stadium as Dublin City Council approved the Part 8 Planning Application. The €40 million redevelopment of the stadium is expected to be completed for the 2027 League of Ireland season. Bohemians plan to develop a new four-sided stadium with a capacity of 8,034, reorientating the pitch to a North/South axis and installing a new sand-based grass pitch. A new two-story community facility is also included in the plans which includes a multi-functional community room and community gym.
Clery’s Department Store Development
Works are underway at Clery’s Department Store on Dublin’s O’Connell Street. A fit-out of a vacant retail unit on the ground floor and basement with a total floor space of 2,648m2 is currently taking place. When completed this unit will provide new sales areas, staff welfare facilities, ancillary and storage space.
