Construction has officially begun on 18 homes in Macroom, alongside a purpose-built home for people living with brain injuries.
The €8.5m housing development in Masseytown is scheduled for completion in 2027 and will deliver 10 two-bedroom and eight one-bedroom units for older people currently on Cork County Council’s housing waiting list.
In addition, a five-bedroom house will be built for ABI Ireland to support people with acquired brain injuries. The home will form a “key part of the development” and reflect a growing focus on inclusive housing solutions to meet a range of needs, including long-term disability supports.
