Activity in the Irish construction sector picked up again last month, and at an even faster rate than in February, according to a leading index.
The impact of higher fuel prices was felt, however, affecting suppliers’ delivery times. A shortage of some materials and a difficulty finding drivers contributed to this.
The headline activity figure in the AIB Ireland Construction Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) was 53.2, which was up from 52.1 in February. Any figure greater than 50 means increased activity.
