Congratulations to Labour & Trades Area Manager Cathal McInerney from our Galway Office who recently took part in the Kinvara Rock and Road 2022 10km race.
The 10km race started and finished at the scenic seaside village of Kinvara with Cathal and other racers going along the Cahernamadra Road, Trellick Road, Moy Road through some of the most beautiful areas of the famous Burren landscape. During the race Cathal was promoting O’Neill & Brennan by wearing a running jersey with our logo displayed across the front.
Kinvara Rock and Road play their part in reducing the environmental impact of the race. They have stopped producing t-shirts for every racer but instead give those who want one the option to purchase one separately. Since the race begun in 2011 race organisers have produced 15,000 t-shirts and now can’t justify the production of these t-shirts as it comes at a huge environmental cost. Kinvara Rock and Road presents participants with wooden medals instead of plastic medals as they try to cut down their use of plastics. They also distribute biodegradable water bottles with the aim of collecting all bottles used by racers and using recycled material where possible.
