The Opportunity

We are working with an established specialist demolition contractor that is looking to appoint an experienced Freelance Demolition Site Manager to oversee the demolition, strip-out and temporary works package on a commercial building project in South West London.

Reporting directly to the Contracts Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Site Manager with a strong background in demolition, soft strip and temporary works within the commercial sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day delivery of demolition and strip-out works on a live commercial project.
• Oversee demolition, soft strip, enabling and temporary works activities.
• Coordinate subcontractors, plant, labour and deliveries to ensure works progress in line with programme.
• Ensure all demolition activities are carried out safely and in accordance with current legislation and company procedures.
• Monitor progress, identify programme risks and implement solutions where required.
• Carry out regular site inspections to maintain high standards of health, safety and quality.
• Ensure RAMS, permits to work and site documentation are up to date and compliant.
• Liaise with the Contracts Manager, clients and subcontractors to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Maintain accurate site records, daily diaries and progress reports.

About You

The successful candidate will have previous experience managing demolition and strip-out projects within the commercial sector and be confident coordinating multiple subcontractors while maintaining the highest health and safety standards.

You will have:

• Previous experience as a Site Manager on demolition, strip-out or enabling works projects.
• Strong understanding of demolition sequencing and temporary works.
• Experience working on commercial building projects.
• Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills.
• A proactive approach with a strong focus on health & safety, quality and programme delivery.

• First Aid at Work
• CSCS Card
