Health & Safety Manager – Cork

Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join their onsite team in Cork. This role provides direct operational support to project teams, ensuring health, safety, environment, quality and wellbeing standards are applied consistently on site. The successful candidate will play a key leadership role in driving compliance, managing risk and promoting a strong, proactive safety culture on site.
Job Summary:
- Lead the health and safety function across assigned projects, providing guidance and support to project managers, engineers, and site supervisors.
- Ensure health and safety requirements are fully integrated throughout all stages of project planning, delivery, and close-out.
- Maintain compliance with relevant health and safety legislation by managing safety plans, risk assessments, method statements, inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
- Monitor subcontractor safety performance and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively where required.
- Promote a strong safety culture through site engagement, safety briefings, toolbox talks, training sessions, and open communication with project teams and subcontractors.
- Prepare regular safety reports, maintain accurate safety records, and support consistent performance tracking and reporting across projects.
Qualifications and Experience:
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification in occupational health and safety or Postgraduate qualification in health and safety, risk management or related discipline.
- Professional membership of IOSH or equivalent body.
- Demonstrated experience in managing safety teams or site-based safety professionals.
- Additional training in behavioural safety or leadership coaching.
- Experience in environmental and sustainability aspects of project delivery.
