Company Overview:

O’Neill & Brennan are currently recruiting for an Estimator for our client, a main contractor with various ongoing projects throughout Ireland. The successful candidate will join their team in County Laois.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaising with quantity surveying team, procurement, subcontractors and other stakeholders as necessary.
  • Collaboration with all project stakeholders to understand requirements and develop estimating and tendering strategies that meet project objectives.
  • Using estimating software along with other relevant tools such as excel to work as effectively and efficiently as possible.
  • Keeping up to date with current building techniques and relevant codes of practice, building regulations and legislation to make sure these are taken account of in the estimating process.
  • Preparing successful Tender Bids and handover to the Project Team.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 7+ years estimating / Quantity Surveying experience.
  • Experience as an estimator in main contracting environment with proven experience on submitting project bids.
  • In depth knowledge of building regulations and standards.
  • Ability to effectively manage estimating process and associated schedules to required deadlines.
  • Strong I.T skills are essential, including with packages such as CostX or Buildsoft.
  • Ability to working in a team environment and collaborate with various departments.
